Founder/Owner, Master InstructorTrained in Beverly Hills, owner Tracy Zindell discovered hybrid Pilates 12 years ago as a way to build muscle and bring harmony into her hectic lifestyle. While working for E! Networks in LA, Tracy was was introduced to Pilates by a co-worker. After seeing and feeling immediate muscular changes in her body she was hooked after her first week. It wasn’t long before Hollywood stars also caught onto the hybrid Pilates craze. Celebs starting popping into her classes and hybrid Pilates quickly became a phenomena in LA. So it was a no-brainer for Tracy to want to bring her dynamic, high intensity format of Pilates home to Chicago — And in 2012, opened Flex Pilates inside what was once the Schwinn bicycle factory in River North. Trained in both west coast pilates as well as traditional pilates she created the Flex Method, her own unique take on modern reformer studio work.
Studio Manager, Master InstructorLocally trained in the Stott pilates method, Molly quickly fell in love with the flex method as a compliment to her traditional training. Although comprehensively certified on all apparatus she especially enjoys utilizing the reformer for the most effective full body workout!
Social Relations Manager, Master InstructorLauren first discovered reformer Pilates in 2010 while living in Dallas, and has been hooked ever since. She is trained in both classical Pilates and The Flex Method, and often incorporates influences from yoga, barre and dance in her classes to add new challenges. Don’t be afraid to sweat a little in her classes!
InstructorA pilates student for over a decade, Sophie has developed a true passion for both the mental and physical challenge it provides. Finding her pilates home at Flex Pilates Chicago, Sophie is trained in The Flex Method and developing creative classes and challenges to keep the practice fun and exciting. You’ll be sure to leave happier and stronger!
InstructorGrowing up a competitive, multi-sport athlete, Carrie has always respected a physical and mental challenge. When her athletic career came to an end, Carrie continued regular exercises – adding running, weight lifting, and spin classes into her routine – but noticed a change losing the strength she once had. At a pivotal time in her life, Carrie was reintroduced to Pilates. Immediately feeling the strength, agility, flexibility, and mental peace was back! She began duet lessons with her cousin before moving on to Private Lessons. Soon after, she was introduced to Flex Pilates by a friend, and fell in love with the Flex Method. Now molding her athletic background and Pilates practice together Carrie found a passion to pass along the magic she’s gained. She believes Pilates is beyond a workout; it is a practice that strengthens the mind and the body.
Tawney has been a part of the Flex family since our doors opened in 2012 and is thrilled to join our dynamic and dedicated team of instructors. A former dancer and competitive all-star cheerleader, Tawney always had a deep appreciation for movement and fitness. After a cheerleading injury left her with scoliosis, Tawney discovered Pilates as a form of rehabilitation and immediately experienced a complete body and mind transformation. She has more than a decade of experience in various Pilates methods ranging from classical to Stott pilates, but she truly believes the Flex Method is the best method! If you want to tone and lengthen your body, sharpen your mind, and lift your spirit, Tawney is passionate about helping you achieve your goals!
InstructorMelissa spent 6 years in high school and college as a competitive rower, pushing her body to its limit without realizing the potential consequences. After developing a reoccurring back and hip injury, she was forced to slow down and find less impactful workouts that would still provide both a strength component and mental clarity. Melissa was introduced to various forms of yoga, barre, and Pilates, but she truly fell in love with her first class at Flex Pilates in 2013. Not only did Flex help her develop a new level of body awareness and confidence, but also provided her with a meaningful community. You’ll find her at a local coffee shop creating playlists for class filled with songs that she hopes will make you feel alive and present in class!
InstructorGrowing up, Jess was always active, doing gymnastics and playing soccer and field hockey. Years of intense training put a strain on joints and muscles which motivated her to seek out the perfect exercise routine. After spending years trying various workouts – from boot camps and biking to barre and running; she discovered Pilates. Pilates became more than just an exercise routine; it became a way of life. She found Flex in 2014 and quickly developed a deep respect for the method. She loves the Flexie community and teaching gives her the opportunity to share her passion and experience.
Liz discovered her love for pilates when taking reformer and mat classes at DePaul University and quickly fell in love with the practice. She spent years staying active by trying different workouts around the city, but always came back to the reformer. In early 2016 she was introduced to the Flex Method by a friend and was instantly hooked. After only a few classes she noticed a difference in her body; feeling stronger and leaner than ever before. She has found a sense of balance through Flex, pushing her mind and body to new limits each time she walks in. Liz is a big believer that fitness, strength, and challenges are all equally as important for the mind, as for body. She’s excited to bring high energy and positivity to her classes to help students experience the same changes she’s seen in herself with the help from the amazing Flex Team!
RStephanie has been a yoga instructor for many years and her love for Pilates has created her next chapter. She chose the Flex Method to complete her training because of the emphasis on physical and mental conditioning, community of the studio, and the importance of growth. In addition to teaching, she is a behavioral therapist and sport psychology consultant. Stephanie integrates somatic approaches such as yoga and Pilates into her work in psychology in order to bridge the mind-body gap. Her classes at Flex will do the same. They will challenge you to be present through movement while connecting to the mind and strengthening the body!
